My Take on Climate Change

During the past few months, many things have happened related to climate and weather in my area. I have been living in New York City since I was 10 years old, and I had never experienced a winter like this one. The amount of snow that fell this season was very surprising. Some days it snowed so much that the streets and sidewalks were covered quickly. For many people this was exciting, but it also created some problems for daily activities. Unfortunately, during some of the heaviest snow days I had to work, so I could not enjoy the weather as much as other people. Traveling to work was harder because the trains were delayed and the streets were slippery. Even simple things like walking outside became more difficult. This experience made me think more about how weather conditions affect our daily life.

In recent years, many scientists and experts have talked about climate change and how it may cause more extreme weather events. Winters may become colder in some places, while other places experience stronger storms, floods, or heat waves. Because of this, it is important to study climate change and understand why extreme weather patterns happen. My perspective on climate change is that we should observe how these extreme weather events occur and analyze how they affect our cities, transportation, jobs, and daily routines. By understanding these changes, society can prepare better and find ways to reduce the negative impacts on our lives.
