My Take On Climate Change

I see climate change in the weather in NYC. It hasn’t really snowed in nearly two years. It has been warmer which led to fewer days below freezing temperatures bringing more winter precipitation to New York rain, less snow. Warmer winters in NYC are also affecting the transition to spring which impacts the timing of blooming for trees and flowers. The wildlife depends on the snow for protection from predators during the winter. My views on climate change are that disasters driven by climate change are eventually going to have a negative impact on humans and the environment. I feel like a lot of people have anxiety about the effects of climate change. A solution to climate change would be to reduce consumption of fossil fuels. The burning of coal, oil, and natural gas in buildings and transportation is responsible for majority of emissions that are warming the planet. Transportation is the top source of greenhouse gases, eliminating pollution from vehicles across the world would be essential to the planet. What should happen instead is that they replace coal, oil and gas with renewable and efficient energy sources. I think transitioning from fossil fuels to clean energy is the key to fighting climate change.
