My Take on Climate Change By City Tech Blogger Yikai Wu

What changes have I seen in our climate? A very noticeable change that I have seen is the lack of snow. Since the start of the winter season, we have probably received snow around 4-5 times. And even during these “snow days”, all evidence of it having snowed is usually cleared within a couple hours. Due to climate change, the temperature of our planet is rising. The rise of temperature can cause a decrease in snowfall since it causes the precipitation to become rain rather than snow. If I remember correctly, this year’s winter was not as cold as last year. I believe last year, the lowest temperature was below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and the average temperature during the winter was below 20. This year, the lowest I have seen the temperature was 9 degrees Fahrenheit and the average temperature was around 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit

As the planet heats up, we might end up not getting snow at all in the future depending on where one lives. I don’t think there are any realistic quick-fix solutions to our planet’s problem but there are things we can do to help. Reducing the usage of cars, saving energy at home, or even driving an electric car can help. While it is unrealistic to expect everyone in the world to follow these “solutions”, every little bit matters.
