Crops wither and prices rise in Chinese drought
Drought in northern China has reduced the winter wheat crop, raising food prices and contributing to inflation. China is concerned less about food shortages than about political unrest. Frost near Beijing has also fed alarm. China has enough foreign exchange to import food, if it’s available. GR
